RESUMO

Prunus conradinae (subgenus Cerasus, Rosaceae) is a significant germplasm resource of wild cherry blossom in China. To ensure the comprehensiveness of this study, we used a large sample size (12 populations comprising 244 individuals) which involved the fresh leaves of P. conradinae in Eastern, Central, and Southwestern China. We combined morphological and molecular evidence (three chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) sequences and one nuclear DNA (nr DNA) sequence) to examine the population of P. conradinae variation and differentiation. Our results revealed that Central, East, and Southwest China are important regions for the conservation of P. conradinae to ensure adequate germplasm resources in the future. We also found support for a new variant, P. conradinae var. rubrum. We observed high genetic diversity within P. conradinae (haplotype diversity [Hd] = 0.830; ribotype diversity [Rd] = 0.798), with novel genetic variation and a distinct genealogical structure among populations. There was genetic variation among populations and phylogeographic structure among populations and three geographical groups (Central, East, and Southwest China). The genetic differentiation coefficient was the lowest in the Southwest region and the gene exchange was obvious, while the differentiation was obvious in Central China. In the three geographic groups, we identified two distinct lineages: an East China lineage (Central China and East China) and a Southwest China lineage ((Central China and Southwest China) and East China). These two lineages originated approximately 4.38 million years ago (Mya) in the early Pliocene due to geographic isolation. P. conradinae expanded from Central China to East China at 3.32 Mya (95% HPD: 1.12-5.17 Mya) in the Pliocene. The population of P. conradinae spread from East China to Southwest China, and the differentiation time was 2.17 Mya (95% (HPD: 0.47-4.54 Mya), suggesting that the population of P. conradinae differentiated first in Central and East China. The population of P. conradinae experienced differentiation from Central China to Southwest China around 1.10 Mya (95% HPD: 0.11-2.85 Mya) during the early Pleistocene of the Quaternary period. The southeastern region of East China, near Mount Wuyi, likely serves as a refuge for P. conradinae. This study establishes a theoretical foundation for the classification, identification, conservation, and exploitation of germplasm resources of P. conradinae.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the current treatment status and prognostic regression of the chronic NK cell lymphoproliferative disorder (CLPD-NK). METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical features, treatment and prognosis of 18 patients with CLPD-NK who were treated at our Hospital between September 2016 and September 2022. RESULTS: Eighteen patients were included: three patients were treated with chemotherapy, five patients underwent immune-related therapy, one patient was treated with glucocorticoids alone, five patients were administered granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, blood transfusion therapy, or anti-infection therapy, followed by observation and follow-up, and four patients were observed without treatment. Fifteen patients survived, including two patients who achieved complete remission (CR) and seven patients who achieved partial remission (PR), of whom one patient progressed to Aggressive NK-cell leukemia (ANKL) and sustained remission after multiple lines of treatment; three patients were not reviewed, of which one patient was still in active disease, three patients developed hemophagocytic syndrome during treatment and eventually died, one of them had positive Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) expression. The 5-years overall survival rate was 83%. CONCLUSION: Most patients with CLPD-NK have inert progression and a good prognosis, whereas some patients have a poor prognosis after progressing to ANKL and combined with hemophagocytic syndrome. Abnormal NK cells invading the center suggest a high possibility of ANKL development, and immunosuppressants and hormones are effective treatments for this disease.

RESUMO

Background: Estimates of the prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) amongst people who inject drugs are in the range of 50%. Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) clinics have a large proportion of people who inject drugs. These clinics, therefore, present an excellent opportunity to identify and treat patients with HCV. Despite this, it remains unclear as to how well these clinics screen patients for HCV. Aim: This study aims to quantify the rate of HCV screening of patients that enrolled into treatment at an OAT clinic attached to a large teaching hospital in NSW. Methods: A retrospective audit of the electronic medical record of patients commencing OAT at the clinic was performed to determine the rate of HCV screening. Findings: During the audit period, there were 99 episodes of care that involved the commencement of OAT at the clinic, for patients who had a history of injecting drugs. Successful screening for HCV occurred in 56% (55/99) of these episodes. Of those screened, 26% were ribonucleic acid positive. Analysis of demographics did not reveal a statistically significant difference between those that were screened and those that were not. Discussion: This study revealed a suboptimal rate of HCV screening at the OAT clinic. To improve the screening rate, the clinic could consider providing dried blood spot testing at the initial nurse assessment or having a clinician capable of venepuncture at the clinic.

RESUMO

Objective: This review aimed to analyze and compare the accuracy of eight screening tools for sarcopenia in older Chinese adults according to different diagnostic criteria. Methods: This systematic review was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. The PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang databases were searched between the publication of the first expert consensus on sarcopenia in 2010 and April 2023 using relevant MeSH terms. We evaluated the risk bias of the included studies using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2) tool. The pooled result of sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and plot the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC) were calculated by using a bivariate random-effects model. The accuracies of sensitivity and specificity of the screening tools were compared using the Z-test. Results: A total of 30 studies (23,193 participants) were included, except for calf circumference (CC), Ishii, and Finger-ring Test; Screening tools for sarcopenia in older Chinese adults have consistently shown low to moderate sensitivity and moderate to high specificity. Regional and sex differences affect the accuracy of the screening tools. In terms of sensitivity and specificity, the CC, Ishii, and Finger-ring Test were superior to the other screening tools. Conclusion: The Asian Working Group on Sarcopenia (AWGS) 2019 criteria are more appropriate for the diagnosis of sarcopenia in older Chinese adults. According to the AWGS 2019, CC and Ishii are recommended for sarcopenia screening in older Chinese adults.

RESUMO

Saccharides are essential organic compounds that perform critical functions in sustaining life processes. As biomolecules, their vibrational frequencies predominantly fall in the terahertz (THz) range, making them amenable to analysis using THz techniques. In this study, L-sorbose and D-melibiose were measured using a THz time-domain spectroscopy system covering a frequency range of 0.1-2.0 THz, and their crystal structures were simulated using density functional theory. The experimental results demonstrated significant agreement with the simulation findings. In addition, the spectral properties of the two saccharides in solution were determined using microfluidic chip technology, thereby facilitating a comparison between the solid and aqueous states. The results demonstrate that the intramolecular and intermolecular interactions of the saccharides were weakened by the presence of water molecules, and the THz absorption spectrum of the same substance solution was found to be correlated with its concentration and temperature.

RESUMO

Salicylic acid is a raw material for preparing aspirin and holds an important position in medical history. Studying the crystallization of these two drugs is of great significance in improving their dissolution rate, bioavailability, and physical stability. Although various techniques have been used for structural characterization, there is still a lack of information on the collective vibrational behavior of aspirin and salicylic acid eutectic compounds. Firstly, two starting materials (salicylic acid and aspirin) were ground in a 1:1 M ratio to prepare eutectic compounds. The eutectic composition was studied using vibrational spectroscopy techniques, such as X-ray powder diffusion (XRPD), terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), and Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, the structure of the aspirin and salicylic acid eutectic was simulated and optimized using density functional theory. It was found that the eutectic type II was the most consistent with the experiment, and the corresponding vibration modes of each peak were provided. These results offer a unique method for characterizing the structural composition of eutectic crystals, which can be utilized to enhance the physical and chemical properties, as well as the pharmacological activity, of specific drugs at the molecular level.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To determine the impact of resistance training (RT) on phase angle (PhA) in middle-aged and older individuals via meta-analysis, explore effects in subgroups, and identify optimal RT protocol. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We searched five databases using predefined criteria, assessed literature quality per Cochrane 5.1 Handbook, and used Revman 5.3 for effect size aggregation, bias assessment, sensitivity analysis, and subgroup analysis. RESULTS: RT improved PhA in middle-aged and older individuals (d = 0.34, 95 % CI: 0.27-0.40, P < 0.05). Effective subgroups included Suspension (d = 0.62, 95 % CI: 0.33-0.90, P < 0.05), free-weights and machine (d = 0.36, 95 % CI: 0.28-0.45, P < 0.05), equipment training (d = 0.24, 95 % CI: 0.13-0.36, P < 0.05), and moderate-intensity RT (d = 0.34, 95 % CI: 0.27-0.42, P < 0.05). RT was conducted 2-3 times/week (d = 0.20, 95 % CI: 0.01-0.38, P < 0.05) or (d = 0.38, 95 % CI: 0.30-0.47, P < 0.05). PhA improved after 8 weeks (d = 0.37, 95 % CI: 0.23-0.51, P < 0.05), 12 weeks (d = 0.35, 95 % CI: 0.26-0.44, P < 0.05), and ≥ 24 weeks (d = 0.26, 95 % CI: 0.11-0.41, P < 0.05) of RT in aged and older individuals. Low- and high-intensity RT, elastic band training, and weekly exercises did not significantly improve PhA. CONCLUSIONS: RT enhances PhA in middle-aged and older adults. For optimal results, we recommend 2-3 weekly sessions of free weights and machine training lasting at least 8 weeks.

RESUMO

Timely detection of highly infectious pathogens is essential for preventing and controlling public health risks. However, most traditional testing instruments require multiple tedious steps and ultimately testing in hospitals and third-party laboratories. The sample transfer process significantly prolongs the time to obtain test results. To tackle this aspect, a portable fiber optic surface plasmon resonance (FO-SPR) device was developed for the real-time detection of infectious pathogens. The portable device innovatively integrated a compact FO-SPR sensing component, a signal acquisition and processing system, and an embedded power supply unit. A gold-plated fiber is used as the FO-SPR sensing probe. Compared with traditional SPR sensing systems, the device is smaller size, lighter weight, and higher convenience. To enhance the detection capacity of pathogens, a monolayer graphene was coated on the sensing region of the FO-SPR sensing probe. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was used to evaluate the performance of the portable device. The device can accurately detect the SARS-CoV-2 spike S1 protein in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and artificial saliva within just 20 min, and the device successfully detected cultured SARS-CoV-2 virus. Furthermore, the FO-SPR probe has long-term stability, remaining stable for up to 8 days. It could distinguish between the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and the MERS-CoV spike protein. Hence, this FO-SPR device provides reliable, rapid, and portable access to test results. It provides a promising point-of-care testing (POCT) tool for on-site screening of infectious pathogens.

RESUMO

Early identification, diagnosis and treatment of TAFRO syndrome are very importants. We retrospectively analysed 6 patients with TAFRO syndrome. Their clinical manifestations, treatment methods, survival and other aspects were summarized. All patients were pathologically diagnosed with Castleman's disease, with fever, an inflammatory storm state and varying degrees of anasarca. All patients received steroid therapy; four of them also received chemotherapy, and 1 received rituximab. Of the 3 patients with severe disease, only 1 patient who received the recommended dose of glucocorticoids survived. Early administration of glucocorticoids can improve the prognosis, especially in patients with severe disease, and adequate glucocorticoids are important.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The prognostic factors for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) have been fully explored, but prognostic information for bulky mass DLBCL patients is limited. This study aimed to analyze the prognostic value of MYC protein expression and other biological parameters in bulky mass DLBCL patients. METHODS: We defined a bulky mass as a maximum tumor diameter ≥7.5 cm and studied 227 patients with de novo bulky mass DLBCL. RESULTS: In all patients with bulky mass DLBCL, the 1-year and 3-year OS rates were 72.7% and 57.1%, respectively, and the 1-year and 3-year PFS rates were 52.0% and 42.5%, respectively. The MYC overexpression group (n = 140) showed significantly worse overall survival (OS; p = 0.019) and progression-free survival (PFS; p = 0.001) than the non-MYC overexpression group (n = 87). Subgroup analyses demonstrated that the MYC overexpression group was associated with inferior OS and PFS in the subgroups with the International Prognostic Index score of 3-5 (OS: p = 0.011; PFS: p < 0.001), Ann Arbor stage 3-4 (OS: p = 0.014; PFS: p < 0.001) and GCB subtype (OS: p = 0.014; PFS: p = 0.010). Consolidation radiotherapy improved OS and PFS in patients with bulky mass DLBCL (OS: p = 0.008; PFS: p = 0.004) as well as in those with MYC overexpression (OS: p = 0.001; PFS: p = 0.001). The prognostic value of MYC overexpression was maintained in a multivariate model adjusted for the International Prognostic Index. CONCLUSION: MYC overexpression is a poor predictor for bulky mass DLBCL patients. Consolidation radiotherapy for residual disease after induction therapy may improve outcomes for patients with bulky mass DLBCL.

RESUMO

Background The tumor microenvironment plays a crucial role in the oncogenesis and treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The H3K9me3-specific histone methyltransferase Suppressor of variegation 3-9 homolog 1 (SUV39H1) is a significant gene that promotes the progression of various malignancies. However, the specific expression of SUV39H1 in DLBCL remains unclear. Methods By retrieving data from GEPIA, UCSC XENA and TCGA public databases, we observed the high expression of SUV39H1 in DLBCL. Combined with an immunohistochemical validation assay, we analyzed our hospital’s clinical characteristics and prognosis of 67 DLBCL patients. The results showed that high SUV39H1 expression was closely associated with age over 50 years (P = 0.014) and low albumin levels (P = 0.023) of patients. Furthermore, the experiments in vitro were deployed to evaluate the regulation of SUV39H1 on the DLBCL immune microenvironment. Results The results showed that high SUV39H1 expression was closely associated with age over 50 years (P = 0.014) and low albumin levels (P = 0.023) of patients. The prognostic analysis showed that the high SUV39H1 expression group had a lower disease-free survival (DFS) rate than the low SUV39H1 expression group (P < 0.05). We further discovered that SUV39H1 upregulated the expression of CD86+ and CD163+ tumor-associated macrophages by DLBCL patients’ tissues and cell experiments in vitro (P < 0.05). And SUV39H1-associated T lymphocyte subsets and cytokines IL-6/CCL-2 were downregulated in DLBCL (P < 0.05). Conclusions In summary, SUV39H1 might be not only a potential target for treating DLBCL but also a clinical indicator for doctors to evaluate the trend of disease development (AU)

RESUMO

Enzymes from thermophilic microorganisms usually show high thermostability, which is of great potential in industrial application; to understand the structural logic of these enzymes is helpful for the construction of robust biocatalysts. In this study, based on the crystal structure of an N-demethylase─TrSOX─with outstanding thermostability from Thermomicrobium roseum, substitutions were introduced on the aggregation interface and rigid spots to reduce the aggregation ratio and the rigidity. Four substitutions on the aggregation interface─V162S, M308S, F170S, and V306S─considerably reduced the thermostability and slightly enhanced the catalytic efficiency. In addition, the thermostable framework was considerably disrupted in several multiple P → G substitutions in several local motifs (P129G/P134G, P237G/P259G, and P259G/P276G). These structural fluctuations were in good accordance with whole-structure or partial root-mean-square deviation, radius of gyration H-bonds, and solvent-accessible surface area values in molecular dynamics simulation. Furthermore, these key spots were introduced into an unstable homolog from Bacillus sp., resulting in a dramatical increase in the half-life at 60 °C from <10 to 1440 min. These results could help understand the natural stable framework of thermophilic enzymes, which could be references for the construction of robust enzymes in industrial applications.

RESUMO

The effect of oral processing on flavor release and change in composition of steamed sturgeon meat was investigated. Oral processing caused changes in the concentrations of taste compounds including amino acids, 5'-nucleotides, organic acids, and Na+. Sensory omics demonstrated that the concentrations of 12 volatile compounds increased significantly (p < 0.05) during the initial stage of oral processing. There is no significant difference in microstructure, texture, and particle size of meat bolus. The top fifteen differential lipids which including eight phospholipids in all processed samples significantly (p < 0.05) correlated with the flavor release. A total of 589 differential proteins were detected in three samples with different chewing times (0, 12, and 30 s). Analysis of the correlations between odorants and 19 differential proteins was performed. Enriched pathways including fatty acid degradation, valine, leucine and isoleucine degradation, glycine, serine and threonine metabolism, and arachidonic acid metabolism were associated with flavor release during oral processing. This study aimed to investigate potential links between flavor release and biological processes during oral processing from a proteomics perspective.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine (ABVD) has been regarded as the standard treatment regimen for classical Hodgkin lymphoma. In recent years, ABVD-like regimens, which emerged due to shortages and the lung toxicity of bleomycin or the emergence of immune checkpoint inhibitors and antibody-drug conjugates, may be favorable, but have not yet been tested. METHODS: We compared the outcomes of ABVD with ABVD-like regimens, which include bleomycin was completely or partially omitted; meanwhile, etoposide or PD-1 inhibitors were added. RESULTS: 5-Year progression-free survival (PFS) was higher for ABVD than ABVD-like regimens in young patients (82.1% vs. 67.0%, p = 0.029), patients with serum beta-2 microglobulin (ß2-MG) ≥ 1.85 mg/L (75.8% vs. 57.6%, p = 0.046), and advanced-stage patients with IPS score 4-7(63.1%, 18.3%, p = 0.038). For elderly (60.5% vs.76.1%, p = 0.089), patients with ß2-MG < 1.85 mg/L (83.1% vs 76.1%, p = 0.282), and advanced-stage patients with IPS score 0-3(84.6% vs. 81.3%, p = 0.476), 5-year PFS for ABVD did not differ from ABVD-like regimens. Elderly patients treated with bleomycin-free regimens showed a better survival trend compared with ABVD (99.3% vs. 61.3%, p = 0.270). CONCLUSION: ABVD is superior to ABVD-like regimens in achieving PFS in young patients or patients with poor prognosis including high IPS score and ß2-MG level. ABVD-like regimens are as effective as ABVD in elderly or low-risk patients including low IPS score and ß2-MG level; elderly patients treated with bleomycin-free regimens exhibit a better survival trend compared with ABVD.

RESUMO

In recent years, solid state terahertz (THz) modulators have obtained rapid progress with the widespread use of two-dimensional (2D) materials in the field of THz; however, challenges remain in preparing flexible THz modulators. In this study, flexible ferromagnetic nematic materials were prepared by doping thermotropic nematic liquid crystals 5CB into magnetic fluids, and the influence of water was reduced by a self-made cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) microfluidic chip. THz modulation characteristics of magnetic fluid and ferromagnetic nematic liquid crystal (FNLC) under the induction of external magnetic field were compared using a THz time domain spectroscopy system. Under the action of a 91 mT magnetic field, the magnetic fluid has a maximum modulation depth (MD) of 54%. Under the same magnetic field, the maximum MD of the FNLC materials increase to 78% because of the rearrangement of Fe3O4 nanoparticles induced by the topological defect of the liquid crystal. We demonstrate that the magneto-optical effect is significantly enhanced in the ferromagnetic nematic liquid crystal hybrid system. This strategy of doping thermotropic nematic liquid crystals to enhance the magneto-optical effect has great potential for THz filtering, modulation, and sensing applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: It is of great clinical significance to find out the ideal tumor biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve the prognosis of patients with osteosarcoma (OS). Oxidative stress (OXS) can directly target intracellular macromolecules and exhibit dual effects of tumor promotion and suppression. METHODS: OXS-related genes (OXRGs) were extracted from public databases, including TARGET and GEO. Univariate Cox regression analysis, Random Survival Forest algorithm, and LASSO regression were performed to identify prognostic genes and establish the OXS-signature. The efficacy of the OXS-signature was further evaluated by Kaplan-Meier curves and timeROC package. Evaluation of immunological characteristics was achieved based on ESTIMATE algorithm and ssGSEA. Submap algorithm was used to explore the response to anti-PD1 and anti-CTLA4 therapy for OS. Drug response prediction was conducted by using pRRophetic package. The expression values of related genes in the OXS-signature were detected with PCR assays. RESULTS: Two OXS-clusters were identified for OS, with remarkable differences of clusters presented in prognosis. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the OXS-clusters were significantly enriched in several immune-related pathways. Patients with lower OS-scores attained better clinical outcomes, and presented more sensitivity to ICB therapy. By contrast, OS patients with higher OS-scores revealed more sensitivity to certain drugs. Furthermore, critical genes, RHBDL2 and CGREF1 from the model, were significantly higher expressed in OS cell lines. CONCLUSIONS: Our study identified the clusters and signature based on OXS, which would lay the foundation for molecular experimental research, disease prevention and treatment of OS.

RESUMO

Objective: Appendicitis is a common surgical emergency. This study aimed to estimate the worldwide burden and trends of appendicitis from 1990 to 2019. Methods: Data on appendicitis were derived from the Global Burden of Disease 2019. Incidence and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) data were analyzed at global, regional, and national levels and stratified by sex, age, and socio-demographic index. The estimated annual percentage change and relative change were used to assess changing trends. Pearson's correlation test was used to assess the correlation between different measures. Results: Global incidence grew by 63.55% between 1990 and 2019, age-standardized incidence rate climbed by an estimated percentage change of 0.58 per year, whereas the number of DALY declined by 31.93% during the same period, with an estimated annual percentage change of -2.77. In 2019, the areas of Andean Latin America and the Caribbean had the highest age-standardized rates of incidence and DALYs. While South Asia saw the largest increase in age-standardized incidence rates, Andean Latin America saw the biggest decline in age-standardized rates of incidence and DALYs. At the national level, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Peru were the top three countries in terms of age-standardized incidence rates in 2019, and Honduras, Haiti, and the Central African Republic held the highest age-standardized DALY rates. Ethiopia experienced the most age-standardized incidence rate increase, and Peru saw the largest decline in age-standardized rate of incidence and DALYs. Significant negative correlations between age-standardized DALY rates and socio-demographic index, between estimated annual percentage change and age-standardized incidence rates, were observed at the national level. Conclusion: Appendicitis remains a major global health concern. Although the trends in DALYs decreased, the burden of incidence increased from 1990 to 2019. Policymakers should create health policies adapted to local conditions to manage the burden of appendicitis globally.

RESUMO

Compared with ex situ measurement, the in situ measurement is more suitable for inspecting complex electrochemical reactions and improving the intelligent energy storage management. However, most of the in situ investigation instruments are bulky and expensive. Here we demonstrate a miniaturized, portable, and low-cost fiber-optic sensing system for in situ monitoring the capacitance and temperature. It can help evaluate the self-discharge rate in supercapacitors (SCs). The fiber-optic sensing system with two probes are implanted inside the SCs to monitor the capacitance and temperature, respectively. The dual fiber-optic probes can work independently and avoid cross-interference through structure design. The fiber-optic localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) probe near the electrode surface can detect the capacitance in real-time by monitoring ion aggregation on the opposite electrode. The fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) probe encapsulated in the thermosensitive liquid can independently detect the temperature change. The measurement uncertainties of the two sensing probes are 5.6 mF and 0.08 ℃, respectively. The proposed tiny and flexible fiber-optic sensing system provides a promising method for in situ monitoring the critical parameters. It is also a powerful tool for investigating electrochemical reactions in various energy storage devices.

RESUMO

Objective: The prognostic nutritional index (PNI) is an important prognostic factor for survival outcomes in various hematological malignancies. The current study focused on exploring the predictive value of the PNI in newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma (FL) in China. Materials and methods: The clinical indicators and follow-up data of 176 patients who received chemotherapy or immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy with FL in our hospital from January 2016 to March 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Cox proportional hazard model was used for univariate and multivariate analyses. Kaplan-Meier curves were used to calculate survival rates and draw survival curves. The log-rank test was applied to compare differences between groups. Results: The optimal cut-off value of PNI was 44.3. All patients were divided into a high PNI group (>44.3) and a low PNI group (≤44.3). The low PNI group had a low CR rate and a high risk of death, with a tendency toward POD24, and Both OS and PFS were worse than those in the high PNI group. PNI was able to predict OS and PFS in FL patients and was the only independent predictor of OS (P = 0.014 HR 5.024; 95%CI 1.388∼18.178) in multivariate analysis. PNI could re-stratify patients into groups of high FLIPI score, high FLIPI2 score, no POD24, and rituximab combined with chemotherapy. Moreover, integrating PNI into the FLIPI and FLIPI2 models improved the area under the curve (AUC) for more accurate survival prediction and prognosis. Conclusion: PNI is a significant prognostic indicator for newly diagnosed FL in China that can early identify patients with poor prognosis and guide clinical treatment decisions.
